No permission for Eid-e-Milad processions in Rajasthan’s Jahajpur amid tensions

The authorities in Rajasthan’s Jahajpur denied permission for any Eid-e-Milad (the birthday of Prophet Mohammed) processions by the Muslim community on Monday. This decision has been made in light of the communal tensions that erupted in the sensitive region on Saturday.
Communal tensions flared in Jahazpur in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district following reports of stone-pelting on a religious procession by the Hindu community, when it reached near a mosque.
According to police, two people, including a woman, were injured in the incident.
In response, participants in the procession staged a protest, chanting slogans and demanding action against the attackers.
Gopichand Meena, the BJP MLA from Jahajpur, staged a sit-in protest outside the mosque, demanding the arrest of the suspects.
On Sunday, markets were closed, and a significant police presence was maintained to ensure law and order.
